Tarangire & Ngorongoro & Materuni Waterfall

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world`s most astonishing natural wonders. It is the largest intact volcanic caldera and home to the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Within the crater rim, a daily wildlife drama is played out as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby lions, leopards, elephants, and black rhinos. Outside of the crater, a similar drama continues in a more spread-out manner with Masai herdsmen thrown into the mix.

Tarangire is far from being the biggest of the Tanzanian parks, but its unrivaled landscape of open plains, dotted with thousands of baobabs, is unforgettable. About 120 km south of Arusha, Tarangire is known for its tree-climbing lions and its very big herds of buffalo. This is one of Africa`s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. The game reserve numbers are staggering: 30,000 zebras, 25,000 wildebeest, 5,000 buffalo, 3,000 elephants, 2,500 Maasai giraffes, and over 1,000 fringe-eared Oryx (gemsbok). Predators include lion, cheetah, and leopard and birders will want to look out for the endemic ashy starling, Rufous-tailed weaver, and black-collared lovebird.

Materuni is one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania situated at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. While in the village, the scenic view of Mount Kilimanjaro is astonishing. This authentic village welcomes visitors to explore the beauty of the land and the cultural heritage of Chagga people. Materuni Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal-clear waters 70m into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level.
