Covering a total area of 54,600km2 and consisting of rolling savannah, lakes, rivers, and deltas, the Selous Game Reserve is four times the size of the Serengeti and is home to the largest concentration of elephants anywhere in the world. Permanent human settlement in the reserve is forbidden, ensuring that this World Heritage Site remains unspoiled and to the maximum benefit of the extraordinary wildlife that can be found there. You can expect to see everything from hippopotami to crocodiles and of course Africa’s “Big 5” game animals — the African elephant, the African lion, the Cape Buffalo, the African Leopard and the White/Black rhinoceros.
